YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT...RIGHT?

Before you go on a run, you tie your shoes and press START on your running app. Every 5 minutes you hear, "Time: thirty five minutes. Distance: three point six seven miles. Average pace: nine minutes, twenty four seconds."

You order something online and track the package, stop by stop. It arrives exactly when it says it would: 2 days after you bought it.

You pay for your coffee with a credit card and check later in the day to see if your rewards for "Restaurants and Bars" has come through to your account.

BUT HAVE YOU CONSIDERED WHAT IS GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES?

There is nothing so basic in our lives

that it isn’t touched by

ANALYTICS.

Analytics is the process of finding, interpreting, and communicating significant patterns in data. Analysts use those patterns to answer questions, spot errors, increase efficiency, and make decisions. Analysts are involved in your running apps, online ordering, credit cards, and much more.

Analysts are employed at almost every company, in every industry. They are present in every department, and they are on any team you can think of.

So who are analysts? What do they do?  What does this have to do with us?
