Here, I've included some other pieces of my writing that I am most proud of. These works demonstrate my comfort in several genres, and they also show how my analytical mind translates to my writing.

I also keep a personal blog, which you can find here. On it, I post things from my writing notebook that I like. I also post pieces of writing that inspire me.

Writing Application Letter

October 26, 2015

I wrote this letter in order to be considered for the Minor in Writing program. It explains my motives for applying, and it shows my thought processes as I navigate through academic decisions. Here you can see my development as a writer and the goals that I have set for myself as an academic, as blurry as they may be.

Comparative Analysis

April 2, 2015

Freshmen year, I read The Dinner by Herman Koch and Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. When we were asked in my English 125 class to take two sources and analyze them alongside one another, I immediately thought of these two stories. Although they explore similar themes, I noticed that one of the narrators was described as insane, and the other was not. This subtle difference interested me, and in this essay I sought to explain its effect on the reader.

Misunderstanding and Representation

February 14, 2014

This short essay was the original inspiration for me to pursue postmodernism as a topic for my writing minor projects. In my senior year English class, entitled Modern Society and Literary Theory, we were asked to analyze a sign that read, "You are a mirror. This is a written sentence." I chose to discuss the uncontrollability of representation and symbolism, a theme that appears in many postmodern works.

The Right to Education Act: An Examination of Its Validity

January 10, 2013

In my junior year of high school, we had to take a nonwestern course, and I chose to take Indian English and History. For the final, we wrote a research paper on any topic of our choosing. I chose to write about education in India, as I have always been interested in educational policy. My paper is an examination of an educational bill that affected both public and private schools.
